Two Minute Minor

When I first looked upon their web page, I was a wee bit afraid. I thought I’d been duped into thinking, “Here’s a band that I wouldn’t mind taking a look at.”

When I first got to the page, I thought I was at some rapper’s website. But I thought about it and downloaded one of their mp3’s. I’m damn glad I did, and I went ahead and downloaded their others.

Two Minute Minor’s music is very melodic, and right up there with bands such as The Ataris, and Lucky 7. Their music is a great cross between punk and ska, although they don’t sound ska at all. I can’t fit them in any category that I’ve heard before. The only reason I say ska at all is their trumpet player, and their occasional upbeats. They certainly have a nice, unique sound, one which I would recommend picking up.

The band consists of :

Alex M.: lead vocals, trumpet
Andrew K.: guitar, back up vocals
Nick D.: bass, back up vocals
Andy P.: drums

This is a different setup. I'm used to most bands having a dedicated trumpet player. This gives 2MM a different kind of feel. Not the same kind of sound by a different band, I like that a lot. All in all, I have to give this band a 4 of 5 stars.
